Is Gods word so strict that it can't be followed? A lot of folks must believe it is else we would all believe the same as God intended. Down through history man has sought to do things his own way. He has sought to get to heaven on his own terms. This is why there are so many different beliefs. It is not that we can't understand Gods will for everyone it is that we refuse to believe what God said and seek our own way.
How hard is it to understand the will of God when today we have it it written form. At anytime day or night we can pick up the Bible and read from scripture what the will of God is. How much clearer could it be to read the words of Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit when he wrote to those in Philippi, Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; Php_1:27.
How hard is to understand that God intended for us to live and believe the way He instructs? Simply read from the book of Ephesians the words written from Paul to them Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Seems to this writer that word ONE has a big meaning not only to those of the first century but to us today. How can you look out in the world with all its division and see ONE? Why the division? Because man wants things his way and not Gods.
Christ told Peter he would establish His church singular not churches plural. We know from the very mind of God that we have all things pertaining to life and Godliness. 2Pe_1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
The problem we face today has been around since the beginning. It is that instead of seeking to do the will of God and to bring our will in to subjection to His most seek to try and bring Gods will and word under their subjection thus having the attitude I will do it my way and God just has to accept it.
Our Lord told us that He is the way Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. So clearly you can not be divided and of the world and get to heaven on your own terms. I implore you to pick up your Bibles and follow Gods way before it is too late.
